District Injury & Spine Center (DISC) Dr. Powell Shiau

I can’t recommend Dr. Shiau highly enough! I came to him with persistent tailbone pain and shin tightness, and after working with him, both have improved tremendously. He is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and takes the time to understand the root cause of the problem instead of just treating the symptoms. He also offers acupuncture. I had been looking for a skilled practitioner in the DMV area for a long time, and I’m so glad I finally found him. The combination of physical therapy and acupuncture has made a huge difference in my recovery. As an added bonus, he speaks Mandarin, which made communication much more comfortable for me. He genuinely cares about helping his patients feel better, I highly recommend him. Thank you for the outstanding care, Dr Shiau!

I started going to District Injury and Spine Center because I was having shoulder pain that radiated down my left arm. Dr. Shiau was able to help relieve my pain, and over time my symptoms completely went away. I’ve had a really positive experience here. Salma and Gabi at the front desk are both incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating. They made scheduling appointments easy and always worked with my schedule when I needed to make changes. And a special shout-out to Orlando, the office dog! He’s the sweetest and loves curling up under my chair while I’m getting treated, which always makes my visits a little more relaxing.

Have been patient for almost a year. So happy I found Dr Powells as I had a leg injury and he was so helpful thru the process. Appointment can we scheduled day prior as it worked Me. Highly recommended for acupuncture and post injury treatments.

I have had an excellent experience with Dr. Shiau and his office! Jenny in the front office is kind, professional, and responsive to any question or booking need. She makes it really easy to be a client. I began seeing Dr Shiau during my second trimester for all the aches and pains of pregnancy. He provided me with a ton of relief through his expert acupuncture treatments and chiropractic care. I also credit Dr. Shiau 100% with going into labor spontaneously which was huge for me as I didn’t with my first pregnancy. The day before at my 40w appointment, I was just barely dilated. An hour after my acupuncture induction appointment, contractions started and my baby girl was born approximately 12 hours later!! I will continue seeing Dr Shiau in postpartum and in future pregnancies!

I have been going to Dr. Shiau for accupuncture & chiropractic needs for 5 months now, my friends recommended me to go after I hurt my knee hiking. Dr. Shiau is very attentive & kind. It was my first time doing accupuncture and I was nervous (especially with the needles) and his gentle approach made it feel comfortable! Needless to say my knee pain has improved significantly. His team is also great in making sure scheduling is seamless. Orlando the corgi and greeter has been a highlight to my visits.
