Insurance and coverage in Montana
Medicare
Medicare Part B covers only one chiropractic service: manual manipulation of the spine to correct a subluxation, when you have a significant neuromusculoskeletal problem and the subluxation is shown by X-ray or physical exam. Once treatment stops improving your condition and becomes maintenance therapy, Medicare stops paying. Other chiropractic services aren't covered.

After a car accident
Montana requires liability coverage of at least $25,000 for injury or death of one person, $50,000 for two or more people, and $20,000 for property damage in one accident. Liability pays others when you're at fault, so your own chiropractic care after a crash is usually paid by the at-fault driver's insurer, any medical payments coverage on your policy, or your health insurance.

Work injuries (workers' comp)
Montana's workers' compensation law lets a Montana-licensed chiropractor serve as an injured worker's treating physician, the provider primarily responsible for delivering and coordinating the worker's medical care, subject to the law's rules on choosing a treating physician.
