01/31/2025 Update - Based on the owners response to my review, I called the owner on 1/23, left a message with the office receptionist and never heard back and never heard back from the owner. I will be seeking legal recourse regarding this issue. I would give Stroud Chiropractic a zero if I could. They advertise their expertise with Sciatica, so I needed help with my first occurrence of Sciatica, which was extremely painful. After being in bed for a week and slowly recovering my ability to walk, I went to Stroud Chiropractic. They made me stand at a computer to fill out a crazy amount of paperwork and many pages of forms—I never saw an intake process like this, and I am 65 years old. After filling out the forms, which took about an hour, I sat for another 45 minutes to see Dr. Brook Martin. The office was somewhat chaotic and them seemed more interested in hustling patients in and out of their office, particularly as the day was coming to a close. The exam process was overly rigorous for my Sciatica pain. Based on their website, I decided to go to Stroud Chiropractic, which claims they are highly skilled at relieving sciatica pain. Unfortunately, I left their office in so much pain that I could hardly walk or drive my car. I was unable to drive the 20-minute journey home without stopping multiple times to stand up to attempt to alleviate the pain. Why would they have let me drive home in that kind of condition? My wife took me to the emergency room in the most pain I ever experienced in my life. The pain level was a 10/10, and I felt nauseous and almost passed out. As a result, I had to spend five days on bed rest before finally feeling well enough to see a spinal specialist for a proper diagnosis. My pain was so severe that I still hurt after taking muscle relaxants, an opioid painkiller, and also took some ibuprofen. I was up every hour on the hour to take a 10-minute hot shower to relieve the pain, as it was the only thing that would work. This entire experience has caused me considerable duress, loss of pay, and a massive impact on my well-being. I believe it could have been prevented if the chiropractor had approached my care differently. The chiropractor made me do many movements while standing, which resulted in the returning sciatica pain that was very much worse than the original incident. It would have been much better if she could perform a gentle hands-on palpation to identify the areas of tenderness, restricted movement, etc. While the doctor was taking xrays I was in so much pain I couldn't continue standing in the position so she could take more xrays. I sat there for 15 or 20 minutes to regain my compusure, then another assistant came in to finish giving me the xrays and I could still hardly stand and the pain returned. She was even having problems with the machine and prolonged my misery by having me take the x-ray a couple of more times to get the right image on the x-ray. They refused to give me the x-rays after I requested them. They said that the only way I could find out about the x-ray results was to meet with the doctor. Weeks later, when I went to a physical therapist, I had six sessions before I was allowed to bend at the waist. Some movements, like bending over at the waist, are a huge “don’t do” with sciatica, yet this chiropractor had me do it and caused me a great deal of injury. I will not be returning to this office for any more care. I requested that we work something out with my payment for these services because I don’t believe it is ethical to charge me for something that cost me many times over their service charges in lost wages and medical expenses. After speaking with the office about their lack of flexibility, they have referred my account to a bill collector. I will not pay them their couple of hundred dollars so they can harass me all they want. Stroud Chiropractic is not a place that I will ever step foot in again. They certainly demonstrated to me that they didn't care about my well-being.

Had the worst head and neck pain. No idea what to do. Decided to start with chiropractor! My son highly recommended Dr Stroud! Oh my. Was the best thing I ever did. Pain gone during first week. Am maintaining my adjustments to my neck because I never want pain like that again. I have some degeneration in my next (not surprised). Dr Stroud has given me many things to do everyday to protect my neck! Awesome experience. The staff is amazing. Friendly, thorough, organized, and fun!!!!

I've been a patient of Stroud Chiropractic for a few years. When I first became a patient, my neck pain had me close to tears some days. I have been pleased with my improvements and continue to come to maintain my health. The doctors and the staff are wonderful! There is such a great atmosphere here. My favorite medical office by far.

Please confirm with your insurance what your out of pocket expenses before visiting this clinic. They will misinform you of what your payment obligations will be, and won't tell you until months after you finish treatment (when they send you a bill). Just to be clear, the treatment and friendliness while I was getting treatment was great.. My one star review comes from my experience five months AFTER completing treatment. On my first visit to Stroud Chiropractic, I was told and given in writing a statement that my insurance would cover $xx.xx and my out of pocket expense would be $16.50 per visit. I elected to pay in advance for my treatments. After two months of have multiple visits/week, I received a bill for over $300. I called and reminded them that I paid in advance and in cash/credit card several times and my treatment was paid in full before my final visit. They informed me that they miscalculated what my out of pocket expenses were, and that the insurance company confirmed their miscalculation. When my treatment was stopped due to insurance stating they would no longer cover, and it came time for insurance to pay, they didn't pay the full amount that Stroud Chiropractic expected, and Stroud placed liability on me for the remainder of the bill. The fault should have fallen on the insurance company, but they have ways to get themselves out of that liability. Some fault falls on Stroud Chiropractic for miscalculating the numbers to begin with, and for not confirming their data before I was seen. Certainly though, zero fault falls on me, since I showed up, heard what to pay, and paid. I spoke with the staff a couple of times about how it could possibly be my fault that they had a miscalculation between themselves and the insurance company. I also asked how it wasn't caught sooner that 5 months after my first treatment. I contacted an attorney about my legal rights and I was told that the insurance company has their side covered, but that Stroud Chiropractic could wave the balance since I clearly wasn't at fault. I was warned by the attorney that Stroud Chiropractic would send me to collections and tank my credit score if I did not pay them. When speaking again about the situation, the individual said she would inform Bob Stroud of the situation. After her talk with Bob, he confirmed that I needed to pay them and offered nothing other than a "payment plan" so he could get his money from my wallet. I wrote him a letter about how displeased I was about this situation and how I felt taken advantage of by him and the staff. 24 hrs later.. Without a phone call, or email, I received confirmation from my bank that Stroud Chiropractic went ahead and charged my credit card the balance. Again, everyone was nice while I was receiving treatment, but I was wrongfully changed money due to their mistake. Some places only are in it for the paycheck and not for the individual they are treating, and it showed here in my situation.. My recommendation, confirm with your insurance what your out of pocket expenses will be BEFORE ever allowing Stroud Chiropractic to treat you. $300 might not be a major amount to most, but to some, it can be the difference of getting groceries that month or not.
